David Forsyth started the Utah Cylinder Shop as a third job, while splitting his time between the U.S. Army and the local fire department. He built the business from the ground up, based off a platform of honesty and service, where a handshake was still good enough. When it came time to retire, he passed the business onto his U.S. Army son, who shared the same values and dedication to honesty and service.

In January of 2025, Utah Cylinder Shop changed its name to Utah Cylinder in order to simplify its branding and is now managed by a new team of seasoned professionals with over 20 years of experience servicing individuals and businesses with their cylinder hydrostatic and visual testing needs. With the addition of our fast and effective cylinder paint or powder coating stripping process, our cylinder refurbishment process is a one-of-a-kind in the cylinder industry and it saves our customers money.
